Alyssa McClelland Six-Year Children’s Book Author
Alyssa McClelland is a six-year-old African American author, born in Houma, LA. She is the author of “My Big Curly Fro,” a book that teaches children about self-esteem, cultural and personal identification, and how to create stronger friendships.

Alyssa’s inspiration for publishing her book started from her insecurities with her natural hair. She is determined to get over her low self-esteem, while encouraging others, including beautiful. She wants her book to help other children who are facing various challenges in their lives.

Her hobbies include playing with barbies and spending time with her family. She plans to publish more books in the future and own her own company. Alyssa has been featured on WDSU and WWL-TV Good Morning Louisiana. She was invited to read her book at the New Orleans Museum of Arts. Please follow us on IG @readwithalyssa.
